Marie-Louise Yovanovitch is a Canadian American former diplomat and retired senior member of the United States Foreign Service. Former Ambassador Yovanovitch made a visit to Northeast Michigan and held a community engagement session. “So, I got an invitation from the Zonta Club, I thought I would come up to Michigan. I’ve never been to this part of Michigan,” Said Yovanovitch.
Zonta is a local organization that does charity, education, and work to help women and children in our community. “We just had a lovely luncheon and we talked about women in Ukraine and the important things that women are doing to fight for the future of their country,” Ambassador Yovanovitch has Ukraine on her mind, “I’ll have a broader discussion with the broader community about Ukraine, Russia, and why Ukraine matters to the United States, why it’s important for our national security,” she said. The ambassador was signing copies of her book, Lessons from the Edge, and many men and women from Northeast Michigan lined up to partake.
